A New Painting

I realize I haven't posted since November, but when you are  living in Paradise, it is hard to wrench yourself away from the ocean or pool and sunshine !  This has got to be what being in Heaven is like.  Not only that, but I'm feeling the "Tender Mercies" happen.  I've been fretting about a car.  I actually bought one that I didn't feel really comfortable with, but because it had Mexican plates I couldn't register it so the man gave me my money back.  I wanted to have the car in time for Kim and Steve and Savannah coming for Christmas.  Then out of the blue, my friend at Church, Sherri Galbraith posted her minivan for sale at my price!  She had no idea I wanted a car.  And she needed to sell the car as she is leaving for 6 months to take care of her parents who both have COVID and her 82 year old dad also has Parkinsons.  A blessing for both of us!  So she came up and I drove the car.  She's going to take it to have a few things fixed for me and in about 5 days I will have a car.

While we were test driving we stopped at Tienda 17 which has used furniture from the mansions around Palmilla and Pedregal.  It's worth just going there to see very expensive furniture that is mostly custom made.  I saw this painting and fell in love, so it is now hanging in my bedroom.  I had sent all my old furniture to Tienda so they had a balance owed me which actually paid for the painting!

The dishwasher is in.  I've ordered a new refrigerator and hopefully my washer/dryer will come before the kids get here.

I love looking at the palm trees out my bedroom window.  I have white wood blinds coming soon but I will probably leave them up all the time.

Since Jose is done until  spring, I gave him a present and we both got a little misty saying goodbye.  After the kids are gone,  I  will invite him and his wife for dinner.  What a jewel he has been.  I am going to remodel the tiny bathroom starting in May when we can have construction noise and I may have him retile the floor.  Depends on the stock market, haha.

My neighbors continue to be awesome.  Steve and Tracy brought over a pork roast dinner last night.  Suzanne and Mike and I talk Democratic politics and you wave at each other in the morning from your balconies.  Suzanne tells me that before Covid there were sort of pot lucks every Friday night.  Sounds fun.

The weather is cooler now, in the 70's, which is perfect, not too hot.  I swim almost every day.  Wendy calls almost every day with a soap opera saga at her work and I get to FaceTime with Kim and Savannah on Sundays.  This is working out just great and they are all excited to be here for Christmas.  We're going to eat out every night.  My present is that they are paying for dinner out!  Which is good since I've been spending like water!

Downtown San Jose is beautiful and I'll be glad when I have time to just wander the shops.  I'm now on the deck and watching the horses go by for the tourists.  They go by in the morning and then come back in the late afternoon.    I'm still pinching myself to see if I a dreaming!
