Another Week Speeds By

 I can't believe how busy this week has been, it's Sunday again and I've not blogged a word!  I guess it will be Sunday blogging.  

I love Jose!  His crew has been amazing.  They spent one long day masking everything and then the next three painting with such perfection!  I love the color walls and having new fresh white walls makes it look so clean and updated.  Kathie Stone, you would be proud, I have a green entry, orange living room and turquoise and white bedroom.  Not ready for pictures yet...

I have had a lot of fun with my neighbors at the pool.  We all kind of meander to the pool and I exercise while talking.  As I was telling them that it all would be perfect if only I had a pool boy with a virgin pina colada,  Roger jumps up and says "Let me make it perfect."  So in about 15 minutes he comes back with several pina coladas for all of us and he is wearing a hat that says "Pool Boy, Mira Vista"  Ok, I am pinching myself to see if this is a dream.  In the winter there will be weekly  visitors too who will have interesting stories.    By the way, the pina coladas are made with fresh pineapple that he freezes in cubes before blending.  Kim Larson I will have one ready for you when you come.

I'm going to have a huge delivery next week of all the stuff I've ordered from Amazon.  Even with tariffs it is sometimes cheaper to buy it from them.  

On Wednesday, the cabinet people come to tear out the base of my cabinets, I'll have no kitchen for a week.

Monday, Jose is coming to hang pictures, put up my hammock chairs, put in a new shower head and hang the lighting.  I do have to find a way to buy a new dishwasher and washing machine combo.

The ocean is amazing the way it changes all day long, like the lake.  I don't think I'll ever tire of this view.  

I'm getting stronger, I can go up and down the stairs now very easily.  When the building is over and it is a little cooler, I'll start tackling walking on the beach.  My cough is gone!! I am no longer panting as I  move.  I cannot tell you how good that feels.

    I am so proud of you for so many reasons. But I must say I applaud you surrounding yourself with happy colored walls. You will smile every morning you wake up❤️❤️

Tonight there is a breeze coming off the ocean which is wonderful.  Everyone says the heat wave is now over and we will have perfect weather for the next 9 months.When it rains here it smells like sandalwood and in a breeze I can smell flowers.   I just got back from swimming in the pool. Today only  Jose came to work on an electrical plug and hang my drapery rod.  Tomorrow the guys come to put in the base cabinets.  I think I enjoy having so many interesting men here, they all have a little English and I a little Spanish so there have been a lot of laughs as we try to communicate. I am so lucky to have always had such good people as friends wherever I have moved.  And they stay friends long after I've moved away.  It's happening here too. I wonder why all these nice people cannot run the world.  I am just praying Trump loses but I'm afraid no one has changed their minds from the last vote.  And yet kind people are going out of their way...

First days

It's Sunday, October 18, 2020 I've been here for two weeks! First calm day, no contractors, cleaning people and I have no car. Loving it! I listened to the Tabernacle Choir and did a Church lesson on my own since there is no Church while we are in Covid lockdown. Looking at the ocean and watching the waves is a blessing! I'm really missing Chris, because all of our vacations here for 14 years were so much fun.  Here's the recap. Monday October 5, Can't believe I am actually here. Dana has been busy getting me signed up for everything and cleaned my apartment! It is 90 degrees and 70% humidity...I meet wonderful Sergio Cota who is going to be my amigo nuevo. He is the gardener here. He's been moving furniture for me and taking out boxes and stuff I don't want. He even lets me practice my Spanish. A New Painting

 I realize I haven't posted since November, but when you are  living in Paradise, it is hard to wrench yourself away from the ocean or pool and sunshine !  This has got to be what being in Heaven is like.  Not only that, but I'm feeling the "Tender Mercies" happen.  I've been fretting about a car.  I actually bought one that I didn't feel really comfortable with, but because it had Mexican plates I couldn't register it so the man gave me my money back.  I wanted to have the car in time for Kim and Steve and Savannah coming for Christmas.  Then out of the blue, my friend at Church, Sherri Galbraith posted her minivan for sale at my price!  She had no idea I wanted a car.  And she needed to sell the car as she is leaving for 6 months to take care of her parents who both have COVID and her 82 year old dad also has Parkinsons.  A blessing for both of us!  So she came up and I drove the car.  She's going to take it to have a fe...
